Confirmed release date
IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator released on August 6, 2026. That date is shown on the official Steam listing and in the developer FAQ updated before launch. It replaces older material that described only a Q3 window, late July, early August, or “coming soon.”
The date applies to the initial PC version. According to the developer FAQ, the PC launch includes Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. A page that still says the game is unavailable on Steam is using a cached pre-release state and should not be treated as current.
The separate free demo released earlier, on June 15, 2026. It remains available through Steam and serves as the public trial. The earlier demo date does not mean the commercial version launched in June.
Release-date questions
Did IRON NEST launch in Early Access?
No. The developer identifies August 6, 2026 as the full version 1.0 launch and explicitly says there is no Early Access period. Steam Playtest and demo records belong to the pre-release process, not the status of the paid game.
Why do some pages still show Q3 2026?
Those pages preserve an older release window or cached store state from before the exact date was announced. Once August 6 appeared on the official store and FAQ, the broad Q3 estimate became obsolete. Check update dates before relying on a release summary.
Was the demo the release?
No. The free demo launched June 15, while the complete paid PC game launched August 6. The demo teaches and samples the operator loop but does not represent the full campaign and progression scope.
When will console and VR editions launch?
No exact dates are confirmed. Console ports follow the PC priority, and VR work is planned after console development. Any specific month, platform list, or preorder date remains to be confirmed by an official product page.
Full version 1.0, not Early Access
The August 6 release is the complete version 1.0. The developer explicitly said it would not launch through Early Access. That makes older references to beta, internal builds, or Steam Playtest access part of the development history rather than the current purchasing status.
Version 1.0 includes a story Campaign and replayable Challenge Missions. The official estimate for completing every mission once is roughly 8–12 hours, with extra time available through procedural objectives, unlocks, medals, and leaderboard play. The estimate comes from internal and community testing and is not a speedrun guarantee.
Launching as version 1.0 does not mean development has ended. The developer plans free content, expansions, and multiplayer support after release. Those plans are real, but they do not turn the shipped single-player build into an unfinished Early Access product.
PC launch storefronts
The official FAQ names Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store as the PC launch storefronts. Steam’s main app ID is 2950790, and its separate demo app ID is 4300500. Use those identifiers to distinguish the real product from similarly named downloads or unofficial pages.
The confirmed standard US price is $19.99, with localized prices for other regions. Launch-discount evidence changed near release: the August 1 FAQ announced $15.99 at 20% off, while the supplied August 6 Steam capture displayed $14.99 at 25% off through August 21. The live regional store is the final source for checkout price.
Store availability can differ from future platform availability. A PC purchase does not automatically establish cross-buy, cross-save, or entitlement to a later console or VR edition. No such entitlement is confirmed in the checked sources.
Demo and testing timeline
Internal playtests began before the public demo, with recruitment handled through the official Discord. NEST FEST offered a time-limited open test from February 23 to March 2, 2026. The permanent public Steam demo then launched on June 15 during Steam Next Fest.
Those phases explain why gameplay videos appeared before the commercial release. Some creators and community members recorded playtest builds without an embargo. Their footage can show the core process, but menus, balance, performance, and exact content may differ from version 1.0.
After the demo, the full game released on August 6. No new public post-launch test date was found as of August 7. The roadmap mentions future content and multiplayer testing opportunities, but dates remain to be confirmed.
Console, VR, and multiplayer dates
Major console ports are planned after the PC version, but the checked official sources do not name individual console systems or exact dates. The developer previously described a gap of a few months as the intention, not a guaranteed day. Console availability should therefore be reported as planned and undated.
A VR version is also planned. The team’s stated priority is PC, then console ports, then VR work at a quality level it considers acceptable. Headsets, control scheme, price, and release window remain to be confirmed.
Heavy Turret Simulator is single-player in version 1.0, but future multiplayer support has been confirmed. Cooperative missions would have multiple Operators commanding separate Iron Nests on the same map, while competitive possibilities were also described. No multiplayer release date was published, and a separate co-op-focused project is a different future title.
Last verified August 7, 2026. Only August 6 is a completed release date; later platform and multiplayer milestones are plans without published dates.
