What the tactical map is for
The tactical map turns written battlefield intelligence into a firing problem the Operator can solve. Orders and reports provide positions or reference information, while the player uses the map to measure the relationship to a target. The map is not a decorative mission selector. It sits inside the documented loop between the teleprinter and calculator. A careless map result can produce a technically correct calculation for the wrong distance or bearing.
The same map also helps show consequences. Reconnaissance photographs and other mission-state information can appear after fire, allowing the Operator to inspect how the battlefield changed. This replaces a conventional close-range kill camera with evidence appropriate to an artillery station.

Confirm impact and correct fire
